Teaching Opportunities at Dance.tech

We welcome instructors with strong training and a passion for teaching across a variety of class levels and styles.
Positions may include:

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome experienced instructors, early-career teachers, and advanced dancers who are ready to step into the classroom. Ideal candidates bring:

  • A strong technique foundation in one or more styles (ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, acro)

  • A positive, professional attitude

  • The ability to create a fun, structured, and supportive classroom

  • Reliable communication with students, families, and staff

  • A passion for helping children and teens grow as dancers and as people

  • Dance.tech is located at 1101 North Main Street in Blacksburg, VA, serving dancers, families, and instructors from Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, and the broader New River Valley. Teachers from surrounding areas are welcome to apply.

  • Yes! Many of our instructors live in Christiansburg, Radford, and other New River Valley communities. If you're within reasonable driving distance of Blacksburg, you are encouraged to submit your resume.

  • We regularly seek instructors with experience in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, and acro. Additional specialties are always welcome in a growing arts community like Blacksburg and the NRV.

  • Dance.tech accepts resumes year-round and keeps applications on file for future opportunities. While we may not always have active openings, we contact qualified instructors in the Blacksburg and New River Valley area as positions become available.

  • Our programs serve dancers from preschool through pre-professional levels. Depending on your background, you may teach younger dancers, recreational levels, or advanced dancers training for opportunities across Blacksburg and the NRV.

  • Most teaching hours take place on weekday afternoons and evenings, with occasional rehearsals or events on weekends. Schedules vary by season, enrollment, and community events throughout Blacksburg and the New River Valley.

  • Yes — Dance.tech welcomes applications from Virginia Tech students and local college dance majors who have strong technique and the ability to work with young dancers in a professional studio environment.

  • Absolutely. Experienced dancers from Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, and neighboring NRV communities who are ready to begin teaching are encouraged to apply. Training or assistant roles may be available based on experience.
